Needless to say, we’re pro Valentine’s Day, the Homebody Way. The great thing about staying in with that special someone? You don’t have to leave the place you love, you know where the wine’s kept, and they always play the music you like.
Plus, there’s nothing like making your sweetheart something with your hands—whether it’s cooking a romantic meal for two, bringing them coffee in bed, writing a love note they can read right when they walk through the front door or lighting a few candles, mixing a cocktail (or mocktail), and going to sleep in a freshly made bed with luxuriously soft sheets. The world, they say, is your oyster—and all from the comfort of your own home.
And if you’re feeling really spontaneous, maybe add a little jewelry to their rotation and display it in a true Gem.

"With all the stuff going on with COVID, Jordan (my wife) and I will be cooking at home for Valentine’s Day this year - probably trying a new recipe from NYTimes Cooking. We love using the GIR cooking tools - especially the Spoonula - in nearly everything we cook. So Pattern and GIR will help set the stage for a romantic dinner." —Nick, Co-Founder
“I’m a fan of celebrating everything in life; the big moments, the small moments, and everything in between. Not everything in life is rose tinted, but it is important to add a sense of celebration and joy when we can.
This means, Valentine’s is a big deal in our household! As the original homebody, the core of the celebration is centered on spending thoughtful time together at home. Cue hearts, roses, and chocolate all over the house!
This year, I plan to surprise my fiancé with a love note on our Letterfolk Tile Mat, and bake Sweet Laurel’s yummy chocolate cake (drizzled with caramel, using my mini pink GIR Spatula…it’s the perfect size for drizzling, and also made of heat-resistant silicone making it perfect for caramel’s hot temps).
It’s chilly here in NY so, for that evening, we’ll make a cocktail (GIR Cocktail Straws = so fun), light a candle (Yield’s Pomelo is a favorite) and snuggle up under our Blacksaw Throw watching the last few episodes of Yellowstone (Rip & Beth anyone?!).” —Suze, Co-Founder
“I wanted to get something beautiful to display my girlfriend's jewelry and keepsake items in. Open Spaces’ storage gems are perfect; colorful, thoughtfully designed, and natural reflects light from them into little pockets of the home. They’re the perfect gift for any time of the year to display and store important or special items.” —Emmett, Co-Founder
